What to include

If a tool is not working

Send the exact link you pasted, which tool you were using, and your browser and device. Most reports we cannot reproduce come down to a truncated link or a video that is private or age-restricted, so the link itself usually answers the question straight away.

If you want a tool that does not exist yet

Describe the problem rather than the solution. Knowing what you were actually trying to get done tells us far more than a feature name, and most of what is on this site started as somebody explaining a specific annoyance.

If you have a copyright concern

Tell us which page and which material, along with enough detail to identify your rights in it. We take these seriously and will remove or amend content where a concern is valid. Our general position on copyright is set out on the disclaimer page.

If you are writing about advertising or partnerships

Use the same address and say plainly what you are proposing in the first line. Generic outreach templates tend not to get a reply.

Before you write

A fair number of questions are already answered on the FAQ page — including why there is no video downloader here, why the largest thumbnail size is sometimes missing, and what happens to the links you paste.
