About
A small independent site building free YouTube tools, and writing honestly about what is and is not possible.
What this site is
YouTubeDownloader.net publishes free browser-based tools for working with YouTube content, alongside written guides about downloading, saving and sharing media across the major platforms.
The tools are deliberately narrow. Each one does a single job and does it properly: pulling a thumbnail at the largest size that exists, building an embed code with the options YouTube’s own Share menu leaves out, extracting video IDs from a pile of links. None of them require an account, none of them install anything, and none of them send what you paste to a server.
Why there is no video downloader here
The domain name sets an expectation this site does not meet, so it is worth explaining rather than glossing over.
Downloading videos is contrary to YouTube’s Terms of Service unless YouTube provides the download itself, and the material involved almost always belongs to someone else. Beyond the legal question there is a practical one: services that offer it break constantly, and the ones that stay online usually do so by pushing visitors through redirect chains and advertising that is worse than what it earns.
We tried building one. It did not work reliably, and continuing would have meant either shipping something broken or shipping something we could not stand behind. So the site changed direction: fewer promises, a smaller set of tools that genuinely work, and honest guides for everything else.
How the tools are built
Everything runs client-side. When you paste a link, your browser reads the video ID out of the URL text and either requests a public image directly from YouTube’s image server or assembles the output locally. There is no backend processing your input, no database of what people looked up, and no account system.
This has a practical benefit beyond privacy: because nothing depends on scraping YouTube or working around its protections, the tools do not break when YouTube changes its site.
Who runs it
The site is run by a small independent team based in Pakistan, working on SEO and web tooling. It is not affiliated with YouTube LLC, Google LLC, or any other platform referenced on the site.
How it is funded
Advertising. That is why you see ads on these pages. We would rather state it plainly than claim to be ad-free while running them. What that means for cookies is set out in the privacy policy, and the limits of what we claim are covered in the disclaimer.

Found a bug, want a tool that does not exist yet, or need to raise a copyright concern? The contact page is the place. Messages describing a specific problem you hit are far more useful than general feedback, and they are what most of the tools here came from.
