Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 August 2026
This policy explains what information YouTubeDownloader.net collects from visitors, how it is used, and what choices you have. It applies to everyone who visits the site at https://youtubedownloader.net.
The short version
We do not ask you to create an account, and our tools run entirely inside your browser. The links you paste are not sent to us, not logged and not stored. What we do collect is the ordinary server and advertising data described below.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our servers log basic technical details when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure, diagnose problems, and understand which content is useful. We do not use it to identify you personally.
Information you give us
You are not required to provide any personal details to use this site or its tools. If you email us, we hold the details you send for as long as needed to answer you. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
How the tools handle what you paste
All of our tools run as JavaScript in your own browser. Nothing you paste is transmitted to our servers, kept in a database, or associated with you. We have no record of what anyone has looked up.
What your browser does next depends on the tool:
The embed code generator and video ID extractor contact nothing at all. Your browser reads the identifier out of the URL text and builds the result locally.
The thumbnail downloader requests images from YouTube’s public image server, exactly as any web page displaying a thumbnail would.
The tag extractor, channel statistics, playlist duration calculator and comment picker query YouTube’s official Data API, because the information they show is not contained in the link itself. Your browser sends the relevant video, channel or playlist identifier directly to Google. That request does not pass through us, but it is a request to Google and is governed by Google’s own privacy policy in the same way that visiting YouTube would be.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site may use them to remember your preferences and to measure how the site is performing. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may not work as expected if you do.
Advertising and third parties
This site is funded by advertising. Our third-party advertising partners may set their own cookies or use similar technologies to serve advertisements and measure their performance. These partners operate under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. Most advertising networks let you opt out of personalised advertising through their own settings or through industry opt-out pages such as optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com.
We may also use analytics services to understand aggregate traffic patterns. These process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own unrelated purposes.
Data security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data we hold. However, no website or internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorised access, data loss or other breaches will never occur.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a copy of it, and — where processing relies on your consent — to withdraw that consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
